No... I am not really singing the blues. I'm just sick. According to my best friend who has known me since I was 12 (which is like FOR-evah) I get the flu in a bad way once a year (every year). Its not just a little case of 'oh what have we here? I say, it appears to be the flu'. I get REALLY sick. So I am out of action and very grumpy that I have to take medication that makes me drowsy.
BE GONE FLU!!!!
I'm supposed to be recording 2 new songs at the end of this month. This flu is being a pain in the you know what. I have taken my meds and am about to fall face first into this keyboard (soooooo droooowwwsssy). So I'm OFF!
Be safe out there young explorer. And whatever you do, don't go near anybody with the flu. And tell that uber-eager colleague of yours to go home and not spread their germs (selfish so and so).

Runners High
In my last running post I mentioned that my darling Marcee and I were planning to do the Gun Run (10km). Since we ran the 5km a few days ago, we decided that we should start 'training'. So far so good. We run in the evenings on the promenade in Seapoint. Today is day 3 and I think I'm beginning to become addicted to the "runners' high". Maybe its just my imagination, but I feel a thousand times better about everything after running.
I used to run quite often, but stopped because of drama that broke me. The drama made me wanna hide (I did, for a year and a half) Now I'm happier than ever to be running again and training for the Gun Run.
I'm also on Twitter (@BlckPorcelain) and Facebook

No Country For Women
I remember how MAD South Africans were when Charlize Theron did the 'real men don't rape' ad below.
This morning I cried when I read the news about the 16/17 year old girl who was gang raped. Not only was the whole thing filmed but it has gone viral. According to this CNN article (and Charlize) a woman is raped in South Africa every 26 seconds. It truly is shocking when not being raped is a matter of luck in my country.
I'm both mad and sad that this happens all the time in South Africa. I will never stop being mad or sad. I refuse to accept that this is how we live. Even more infuriating is that there were people on Twitter who were asking to see the video. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE PEOPLE?!
I wonder what those who were infuriated by Charlize Theron's ad have to say now? I'm tired of hearing the outraged voices of women only. I would love to hear from the men too.
Heart is heavy.

Running Stuff
I may have never mentioned this before, but I have always been useless at 'physical' stuff. At school the teachers didn't even bother to try and get me involved because I was a 'creative' kid. So I'm sure you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that I can run. Not only that... But I also enjoy running.
Marcee was the one who used to drag me to the promenade and ask me to just try. Recently she decided to run a race with @alambchop & @bohoparadox. A few days before the race she was starting to get nervous, so I offered to run the race with her. We both entered the 5km race, with no real training and finished in under 40 mins. Not bad at all :)
It was apparently so good that we may very well start training and do the Gun Run (10km). Eeeeekk!
That's what I did this weekend :)

I already LOVE Dark Shadows
You dont EVER have to twist my arm to watch a Tim Burton movie and well you know how I feel about Johnny *wink*. He is my husband (in my head).

Dirty Thirty here I come
I turned 29 on the 24th of March and it was honestly one of the best days of my life. AND I ate so much food and had so much wine. I said I would do a bday post, so here it is:
I was going to post more pics, but it was too much work and I wanted to keep some memories for myself. I know. I know... I'm weird. So 29 better kick ass because I am soooo looking forward to 'dirty thirty'.
