Something New (Table Thirteen)

This is not REALLLY something new, but I hadn't been to Table Thirteen since last year and they made some changes... So... Yeah something new. The genius behind Table Thirteen (in Green Point) is Lara O'Sullivan. Lara Truly is a genius because not only is the food AMAZING but the decor is also incredible. You can tell that a ;lot of though and love went into the place.

Marcee and I had to handle some car business on Saturday morning. We had to be there obnoxiously early. So after the car business was handled we made our way to Table Thirteen for breakfast.

Saturday breakfast at TableThirteen could become a regular thing. I didn't take any pics of the place because it was kinda full and I didn't want the other people there to feel uncomfortable.

The internet is so amazing (THIS is not news). I found an interesting tumblr the other day. As always I was checking out art of kawaii and I ended up there somehow (after 40 mins of aimless browsing). Bearded and Black basically just shares photos of black men with beards. Initially I thought 'oh this doesn't look very interesting'. As you know things don't have to be interesting for you to continue mindless browsing.

I have never thought of myself as a beard girl, but after looking at some of those pictures... I think I might like men with beards. Ooooh lawdy! Have a look at some of the pics from Bearded and Black.

Runners High

In my last running post I mentioned that my darling Marcee and I were planning to do the Gun Run (10km). Since we ran the 5km a few days ago, we decided that we should start 'training'. So far so good. We run in the evenings on the promenade in Seapoint. Today is day 3 and I think I'm beginning to become addicted to the "runners' high". Maybe its just my imagination, but I feel a thousand times better about everything after running.

I used to run quite often, but stopped because of drama that broke me. The drama made me wanna hide (I did, for a year and a half) Now I'm happier than ever to be running again and training for the Gun Run.

Once when I was at the convent school I drew a garden and in the garden I added some black flowers. One of the nuns made me go outside and find black flowers. She then told me there were no black flowers. Seeing this, I suddenly felt such relief. Dont ask why I held onto that for such a long time lol.

Tea Time!

One of my favourite things to do is find nice places to eat or have tea. Weird because I am not even crazy about 'warm drinks'. Marcee and I were having a busy morning, but we decided to stop somewhere and have tea. Goooooo TEA!

Last night I finished writing the last 2 songs for the album. I cannot wait to go into studio and record them. The project feels complete now. For a while it felt like there was something missing. I am happy now. Marcee will use this post against me when we are 'done' and I start faffing again. Yay!!

I'm posting a pic of a glass of wine because I cannot have any alcohol for the next 4 weeks.

P.S I am not as angry as I was yesterday. I'm still disappointed that the album won't be released in March

My dearest, sweetest Marcee has been growing her hair. A few weeks ago she trusted me enough to let me dye her hair. Isn't she lovely?

If this music and writing thing doesn't work out, I might just open up a hair salon.

Some people have serious problems like heavy chains (cue Kanye's 'chain heavy'). I have a best friend whose camera has an unbelievably bright flash. I am not exaggerating when I say it is blinding. We were going through pics recently and I realised how many of these 'flash bright' pics we have.

Sabotage

Over the past few months I ave been trying to get 'healthy'. Which means that I work 5 times a week, eat loads of veggies and fruits, drink more water and cut down on wheat. Well done Porcelain, right? Yep. I am well on my way to healing all the damage I have done to my body over the years (by not eating right and not getting 'physical')

I seem to be struggling on one front though... Sugar. I stopped drinking fizzy drinks a long time ago and I hardly ever have coffee. Giving up sweets was hard, so I cut down. I now only occasionally buy Marshmallows or Milk Bottles (I was an addict for real). The ONE thing I seem unable to give up is cupcakes. This is very disturbing. If I could live on cupcakes and wine ONLY, I would.

The Lady Killer

Yessir it is Cee Lo Green's album. I have been meaning to get it for a while. I have had it for 2 days and it has been on repeat for  2 days. Its been a while since I have listened to an album without skipping too many songs. I only skip the intro and outro AND 'Bodies' (it will probably grow on me).

Where did 2011 go?

It is probably easier to ask where the year went. Yeah, let's blame it on the year. I really did have every intention to update the blog, but... I moved house, downgraded 'day jobs', released the EP, released a banging remix of Butterflies etc etc.

Hout Bay has been very good to me, so far. The people here have lots of kids and dogs AND shoes are optional. Since food is everything to me, I have discovered some great spots. Aaaah yes :)

The Fast Lane

Good times. Marcee & I went to a TCM event to watch Viva Las Vegas. We got into this Red Beauty and did what we always do: act the fool! 

A holiday?

Aaaah I've already broken all those promises I made about 'being a better blogger, blah blah blah'.

I wish I could say that I met King Charming (I'm a queen, so I'm not marrying a prince), got married and spent the past few weeks shopping and making sweet butter love ha ha ha. I have in fact been working on the album. More than half of it is done now. Yay!!

And I spent some time travelling around the Western Cape, for my own sanity. I took my EVERYTHING (Marcee) with me, of course. A good time was had by one and all. Here are some pics from our trip to Riebek Kasteel (sp?). Went to a wonderful restaurant called Bar Bar Black Sheep.

The week that was

I have been a very quiet little Porcelain. My apologies. So here is a run down of the week that was.

1. I received THE most amazing news on Tuesday. 'Are  you listening' is now playlisted in Croatian and according to my wonderful manager lady she is working on more stations in Europe. Yay! Have a listen to the song (below). I cannot explain how great it is to have more people hear the music. I am so grateful.

2. Working on the new single. Itis produced by Oltak (amazing human being) and we are working on getting a 'super official' DJ to do an official remix. Aaaaaah I cant wait to go back into studio and record.

3. Labels love me and others dont. I'm keeping things 100 on this blog. Manager lady and I are looking for labels to do M&D (manufacturing & distribution) for the album. So far we have had some say no and others say 'we will get back to you'. I'm not discouraged because regardless of what happens this album will be released early next year. God will take care of the rest.

4. I was featured on TimesLive. Great article: HERE. So far so good.

The week has been amazing and I am grateful to be alive and making my dreams come true.
