When I was Green

In 2007 I was recording in Galen's closet. That is not a euphemism for anything. I was really recording in his closet, that was 'the booth'. We worked on an amazing demo & for that I will be eternally grateful. But in 2008 I wanted to work on stuff that I could release. I met Chris Born and the rest is history.

I felt so Green at the time, so I that is what I called the EP. Green will always have a special place in my heart. It was my first 'release'. The song 'Teacup' made it to the top of the charts. Right up there with Beyonce and Katy Perry and I was ecstatic. I'm making Green available for download as well.

Its free. Its Green. I love performing these songs live. Listen & download ;)

TheInBetween

The manager lady convinced me to release an EP that I wasn't sure I wanted to release. Late last year I was in the Red Bull Studios (Cape Town) and I worked with the ever amazing Oltak.

This was a the time when the album was on 'pause' and I really wanted to get rid of some of my anxiety. I was feeling stuck and needed to do something new. I struck Gold because Oltak is a GENIUS. One of the songs on the EP is 'Butterflies' and it has been playlisted in 8 countries. BOOYAH!!

So here is 'TheInBetween'. Listen and share. Its free. It certainly freed me when I was feeling stuck, sick&tired and useless. Writing 'Clowns Joy' was like therapy for me.

The most beautifulest writing

I wish I could bring you up to speed on ALL the happenings of my life, but I don't have a lot of time & I'm working on... Drumroll please.... Finishing the album. I know that child birth is going to be easier than finishing this album.

When I write, I listen to a lot of hip hop. I have a lot of love for Keith Murray. I'm a hip hop seedling with great taste :)

I love this song

I'm coming back as a rapper/emcee in my next lifetime. True story.
